TODAYS PROJECT.

I started this today. washing the plate in sugar
soap, & letting it dry in the sun.
Then I sprayed it with Hammerite spray.

I let it go off but not completely dry, then spray
over the top loosely with gold spekkle spray.

Next I painted round the edges
plotting the quarters, then the spaces
in between.
I then added the centre flowers and leaves, then left it out in
the lovely sun that we are having, untill it dried.
Lastly I sprayed it with  clear varnish.

EGG RACK

Here is my egg rack.
I was so pleased to find one like this at a car boot sale & It cost me £1.50.   I had been searching for one like this for a while.
The shape just lends itself to be painted intricately,   although it is hard to make sure you dont go over the top, & completely overwwork it.

NARROW BOAT STYLE ENAMEL PLATE

This is an enamel plate
I thought I would have
a go at doing.
Its not easy plotting where to put each mark equally, but let's just say that I think I understand the theory of pie now!

from this to this.....

From this to This..... A lovely little box I found which I wanted to make look like an oriental lacquered one.
I used a design I made when I also didHenna Tatoos.

SPICE RACK

This spicerack was done in a distressed style.
As you can see it is decorated in the Traditional Narrow
Boat style flowers.
 This is now sold.

Watering cans.

2 galvanized iron watering cans. Now sold. I wanted to try a
different kind of design instead of roses & traditional stuff.

Welcome to my Blog.

I love to paint on things, all sorts of things. It seems to stem from when
I was a child & my parents dispaired of me, I painted atwisted rainbow
up the door, across the chest of drawers & over the wall in my bedroom..
I just enjoy putting a personal stamp on things, & I love it when
someone asks where did I get a coat I embroidered,  or a hand painted jug.
I got into Narrow Boat art many years ago, living near the Kennet & Avon Canal.  I love the bright colours, and patterns, & the traditional Roses & Castles. I have created many hand made designs on furniture, clothing, allsorts of things, & just lately decided to go back to it.

Here is the first of my little Potties. I have 2 more, which are
a little bigger in size. This one was worked in Ceramic paint,
which I thought I would have a go at to see how it performed
on enamels.
