watering can, & spice rack.

2 more things I have just finished. Actually I cheated with the watering can as it was already painted.
The spice rack is quite a bright one, & more of a traditional look to it in a barge wear sort of  way.It must have been a good choice as it sold straight away.

hanging basket planters.

Hanging basket planters, I think they are so sweet.
I got them at a boot sale, 5 for £1.00!  After working some of my magic on them I have now sold 4 of them.
It just shows what you can do with someone else's cast offs.

COAL SCUTTLE IN PROGRESS

here are a few stages of my coal scuttle. As you can see, you have to position your circles first as a base colour for the roses.
still working on this one, as I tend to work on several peices at
the same time.
It saves on paint, & white spirit, when I have to keep cleaning brushes.
I have painted the handles red now, & it is still drying but I will post finished results soon.

Charcoal Iron.

here is the state of the iron my other half stripped down and painted up in preperation for me.

Here is how i start building up a pattern as you can see, & it really works on this subject. I am very tempted to keep this one for my fireplace as I love it.

this is one side finished, and below you can see close up how you build up flowers & leaves.

here it is all finished and ready to go.

Bluebell spice rack

Here is the detail of the spice rack I was commissioned to paint.
The customer decided on colours and the Bluebell motif, &
She collected it today. She seemed very pleased with it.

View of the side & edges. I am really pleased
with the way this turned out.

TODAYS PROJECT.

I started this today. washing the plate in sugar
soap, & letting it dry in the sun.
Then I sprayed it with Hammerite spray.

I let it go off but not completely dry, then spray
over the top loosely with gold spekkle spray.

Next I painted round the edges
plotting the quarters, then the spaces
in between.
I then added the centre flowers and leaves, then left it out in
the lovely sun that we are having, untill it dried.
Lastly I sprayed it with  clear varnish.
